Ciara O’Donnell is the Senior Associate Director of the PreMed and PreHealth Advising Program at Northeastern University and serves as an advisor to PreMed (last names T-Z), PreDental, and PrePodiatry undergraduate students and alumni. She received her bachelor’s degree in Sociology and master’s degree in Guidance & Counseling at Providence College. Ciara is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Education from Northeastern University, where her research is focused on the experiences of underrepresented minority pre-medical students at Northeastern University. Ciara has enjoyed focusing her professional interests in career advising and counseling and brings both an administrative and student advising background to her role.

Anna Pietrzak started as the new Assistant Director of PreMed & PreHealth Advising this summer and serves as the advisor to PreMed (MD/DO) last names L-M and all Pre-Veterinary and Pre-Optometry students and alumni. She earned both her baccalaureate and master’s degree from Syracuse University where she studied Sociology and Student Affairs Counseling. Anna has worked in PreMed and PreHealth advising for the last several years and is excited to join Northeastern! She is passionate about working with students, discovering their interests and strengths and supporting them to reach their goals. Anna enjoys exploring New England, the outdoors, and vintage shopping.

Courtney Martinez joined PreMed and PreHealth Advising in February of 2023! In addition to her role as a PMPH advisor, Courtney actively teaches undergraduate biology for CPS students at Northeastern. Courtney brings a wealth of experience in pre-health advising and traditional academic advising to our team! Most recently, Courtney served as an Academic Advisor for graduate students in CPS at Northeastern. Prior to relocating to Boston from Florida in January of 2022, Courtney served as a PreHealth Advisor at the University of Central Florida for several years. Courtney earned her B.S. in Biology from Dallas Baptist University and her M.A. in Educational Leadership & Neuroscience from the University of Central Florida. Courtney is actively pursuing a Doctorate in Education from Northeastern University, where her research is focused on teaching and learning practices that improve student self-efficacy and persistence in STEM education. Courtney is passionate about STEM and pre-health student success and looks forward to helping students reach their fullest potential!

Emily is passionate about removing barriers to create equal opportunities for education and career development for all students. Emily has focused her career in academic and PreHealth advising. In her free time, Emily enjoys camping and traveling to new parts of the country!

Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medical Certificate students* may note, if you have received PreMed/PreHealth advising in the past through your undergraduate institution, you may wish to consider continuing that advisor/advisee relationship.

*The PreMed and PreHealth Advising program provides advising to Northeastern University College of Professional Studies (CPS) students enrolled in the Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medical Certificate program AND who are interested in applying to allopathic medicine (MD), osteopathic medicine (DO), dentistry, optometry, physician assistant, podiatric medicine, or veterinary medicine. All other CPS students should consult with the CPS Career and Academic Coaching Staff for PreMed and PreHealth Academic Advising.
