Student Ambassador Program

Building Community. Fostering Connections.

Navigating life as a PreHealth undergraduate can be challenging — but you don’t have to do it alone! The PMPH Student Ambassador Program connects students to foster mentorship, leadership, and community within Northeastern’s PreHealth network.

Our goal is to create an inclusive, supportive PreHealth community that helps students thrive academically, socially, and professionally. PMPH Student Ambassadors serve as leaders and peer mentors, supporting first-year students, and representing PMPH at campus events. Open to second-year students and above (on any NU campus), this volunteer opportunity fosters leadership, communication, and community-building while empowering ambassadors to make a lasting impact on the Northeastern PreHealth community.

First-year PMPH students on any Northeastern campus are encouraged to become a mentee. This structure allows first-year students to focus on adjusting to college life while benefiting from the guidance and insight of experienced peers. As they enter their second year, they are encouraged to apply for a Student Ambassador position and step into a leadership role within the PMPH community.

Student Ambassador Applications (open to 2nd year students and above) for the Fall 2025-Spring 2026 academic year will open soon! [more information coming soon!].

First-year students interested in being paired with a Student Ambassador mentor for the Fall 2025-Spring 2026 academic year should complete this form

PMPH Student Ambassadors serve in a dual role as both Community Ambassadors and Peer Mentors. As Community Ambassadors, they represent the PMPH community at special events and help foster connections among peers and within the broader Northeastern community. In their role as Peer Mentors, they provide support and guidance to first-year PreHealth students, helping them navigate their academic and professional journeys.

As part of the Ambassador role, second-year students and above are paried with first-year PMPH students to provide peer mentorship.

  • Mentorship runs for one academic year (Fall-Spring).
  • Pairings will be made at the beginning of the Fall semester.
  • A Fall mixer will give Boston-based pairs the opportunity to connect in person at the beginning of the semester.
  • Mentorship may take place virtually or in-person, depending on campus location.
  • Space is limited – participation is based on application.

Beyond mentorship, Student Ambassadors contribute to building community by participating in PMPH events and activities such as:

  • Annual Health Professions Conference
  • Special Campus Events
  • Student Panels and Mixers
  • Tabling at Information Fairs/Welcome Days
  • Student Ambassador positions are open to second-year students and above.
  • First-year students (on any NU campus) interested in being paired with a Student Ambassador mentor should complete this form.

The Student Ambassador Program is entirely voluntary, but meaningful participation is key. We ask that you only apply if you’re able to stay actively engaged and contribute as your schedule allows. Like many experiences, you’ll only get out of this program what you put in.

Student Ambassador positions and mentorship pairings run for one academic year (fall through spring). Applications to participate again or for the following academic year open each summer. While formal pairings last for the academic year, mentors and mentees are welcome to stay in touch afterward at their own discretion. Please note that applying to the Student Ambassador program does not guarantee placement or mentorship pairing, as pairings are made based on the number of first-year students requesting mentors and program capacity.

Student Ambassadors:

  • The application will allow you to share identifying information and list various opportunities for participation. The PMPH team will notify you after applications are reviewed and Student Ambassadors are selected for the academic year. We will then reach out regarding the peer mentoring component of the program and invite you to participate in events and activities as needed. This is an excellent chance to develop and enhance your core competencies.
  • Applications for the Fall 2025-Spring 2026 academic year will open soon! (more information coming soon!).
