Opportunity Description
The Lifespan Machine is an automated imaging platform that combines modified flatbed scanners with custom image processing and data validation software. The technology automates the collection of high-accuracy, large-population, nematode survival data. To learn more about the Lifespan Machine check: http://lifespanmachine.crg.eu/lsm. You can also find the source code here: https://github.com/nstroustrup/lifespan. Our lab has a large cluster of scanners controlled by a Lifespan Machine.
Your responsibilities will include routine maintenance of this system, updating and refining the source code as needed, and troubleshooting any issues to ensure optimal performance. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our data collection processes, ultimately supporting the lab's research objectives in longevity and aging.
The ideal candidate for this role should have a strong foundation in Linux, experience managing MySQL databases, and a solid understanding of networking basics to effectively maintain and enhance the Lifespan Machine's operations.
