Opportunity Description
Hello! I am looking for researcher assistants at the graduate and undergraduate levels to aid in the re-establishment of my language development and early childhood research laboratory on the Oakland campus.
I will be looking for help starting this spring/summer (and beyond) with developing and managing a participant database, organizing data and documents from previous studies, aiding in coding and analysis, and I am looking for advanced students/graduate students for collaboration on the write-ups and presentations of studies. Students must have knowledge of areas related to developmental psychology and/or linguistics.
Studies include: Toddlers' learning from overhearing; parent-child STEM engagement in museum spaces; Syntactic priming in bilingual Spanish-English children; Heritage language loss in families.
***Bilingual Spanish-English is a plus for studies launching this spring examining children's learning from overhearing. This study will start asap.
Opportunities are multi-year, and can start in an informal way as part of the laboratory research discussion group, which will meet regularly. More specialized positions will be compensated, by course credit or payment. I especially encourage applications from first-generation students as well as other students traditionally underrepresented in the research field. Undergraduates who may be able to join the lab for multiple years are especially encouraged to apply.
