James McKeon, a political science student with minors in international affairs and urban studies, explored his interest in peace and security through a number of research and experiential opportunities. He researched the Arms Trade Treaty while studying abroad at the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research in Geneva, completed a dissertation on the Scottish Independence Debate while at the London School of Economics, and worked as a Parliamentary Researcher in the U.K.
In his senior year, McKeon was awarded a Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellowship. Through this fellowship, McKeon worked at the Stimson Center researching and writing on a variety of issues, including security and development in Brazil and the nuclear deterrent in the U.K. McKeon is currently a Policy Analyst and Communications Manager at the Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation in Washington, D.C.
