Summer Project Deadlines Extended

The Office of Undergraduate Research and Fellowships has extended the deadlines to apply for awards that support student-initiated research and creative projects during the summer.

The Undergraduate Research and Creative Endeavor Awards provide up to $1,000 (for the Early Award) or $3,000 (for the Advanced Award) to encourage students from all years, colleges, and majors to deepen their experiential engagement through an original intellectual or creative contribution to their discipline. Applications will now be accepted through March 8, 2019.

The Summer Scholars Independent Research Fellowship supports original, student-initiated independent research, creative performance, and project-making in close collaboration with a faculty mentor. Northeastern’s most generous undergraduate research awards, SSIRFs require students — as individuals or in groups — to demonstrate a high degree of independence in project development and execution and provide up to $5,000 to fund at least ten weeks of full-time work during the summer. We are currently seeking additional SSIRF applications in the fields of business; the social sciences and humanities; the arts, media, and design; and computer and information sciences. Students wishing to propose a project in one of these fields should write to URF@Northeastern.edu as soon as possible requesting permission to submit a Letter of Intent. Requests will be considered through March 1, 2019.
