Oh, the Places They’ll Go! URF Scholars Embark on New Adventures

As we bid a fond farewell to the graduating seniors whose paths through research, creative endeavor, and fellowships crossed ours, we take a moment to thank them for sharing their journeys with us, congratulate them on their remarkable achievements, and celebrate the exciting next steps that await them.

Here is a brief sample of some of our graduating or recently graduated URF Scholars’ future plans and destinations. If you are graduating senior or recent alum who has worked with our office, please take a moment to let us know where you’re headed. We’d be delighted to celebrate you, and we will update this page as more information comes in.

Not decided (yet). I am hoping to enroll at Trinity College Dublin in Ireland for a Biodiversity and Conservation master’s degree. I received a prestigious Ernst Mayr Fellowship to return to Panama at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute this summer to collect follow-up data on my project about how the microbiome of a tropical lizard will respond to climate change. Thus far, the field season has been postponed until July but there’s still a chance I might be able to go. I am waiting to hear on funding – scholarship decisions have been delayed for my graduate school. Otherwise, I’ll spend the summer working on manuscripts — writing up work from my time in labs while an undergraduate at Northeastern.
