RISE 2023 Highlights Hundreds of Innovative Student Projects

RISE is Northeastern’s annual showcase and celebration of research, creative, entrepreneurial, and civic projects undertaken at the university — and on Thursday, April 13, RISE was back in-person and better than ever. After four years of being exclusively online, 2023 brought the opportunity for RISE to emerge as a reimagined hybrid event with a lively in-person component.  Over 600 students shared 452 projects at this year’s RISE —  all of the projects were shared via an online poster gallery, while 375 projects were showcased live during a three-hour Expo in Matthews Arena on the Boston campus.

Over 1000 people viewed the online portion of the RISE Expo, while well over 2000 Northeastern students, faculty, staff, and external guests attended the poster session in Boston. The large and varied audience of people drawn from a wide range of disciplinary and professional backgrounds provided student presenters with ample opportunities to share their work with people outside of their fields, a key goal of RISE.

Undergraduate Research and Fellowships coordinated the collaboration between all of the colleges and campuses on behalf of the Office of the Chancellor.

For some images from the poster session, please see below. Congratulations to all of the students who presented at RISE, and many thanks to all of the event attendees!
