Gilman Scholarship for Study Abroad Information Session
Thursday, September 14, 2023, 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM ET
The Gilman Scholarship offers up to $5,000 of grant funding to support international study, Dialogues, and international coops for American students, US citizens, who are eager to expand their horizons and Pell Grant eligible. This particular award cycle is for those whose study abroad programs start between December 1, 2021 and October 31, 2022 (it encompasses courses and coops through Spring 2022, Summer 2022, Fall 2022, and Academic Year 2022-2023). Come prepared with a draft of your application essays – we will work with you to edit and finalize your work. Graduate students, alums, and current undergraduates welcome.

Goldwater Scholarship for STEM Researcj Information Session

The Barry Goldwater Scholarship provides funding for outstanding undergraduates in the STEM fields interested in pursuing PhD-level research careers. Sophomores and juniors with excellent academic records and records of achievement in research should apply.

Truman Scholarship for Public Service Information Session

Carnegie Endowment for International Peace Fellowship Information Session
Wednesday, October 18, 2023, 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM ET
The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a leading foreign policy think tank, offers one-year fellowships to graduating seniors and recent alums to provide research assistance to scholars—researching books, co-authoring journal articles and policy papers, participating in meetings with high-level officials, contributing to congressional testimony and organizing briefings attended by scholars, journalists and government officials.

Critical Language Scholarship Information Session

The Critical Language Scholarship fully funds intensive overseas summer study in critical need languages, including Arabic, Azerbaijani, Bangla, Chinese, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Swahili, Turkish, and Urdu. Learn about how to craft a successful application and get your application kickstarted in this info session and workshop. This is a great award that first-year students can apply for!

Udall Scholarship for Environmental Leadership Information Session
Thursday, November 02, 2023, 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM ET
The Udall Scholarship is an award with a divided focus. On one track, the award recognizes those with a demonstrated capacity for leadership in the area of environmental stewardship. On the other track, the Udall recognizes Native American and Alaska Native students who are working in the areas of tribal healthcare or policy, writ large. One does not need to be a Native American or Alaska Native to apply for the Udall Scholarship in the environmental track. In both tracks, the Udall seeks those who are committed to public service and the hard work of consensus building. If you’re interested in people and planet, this is the award for you!
Eligibility: U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or U.S. nationals; currently enrolled sophomores or juniors; GPA of 3.2 or above; applicants in tribal policy or health care, Native American or Alaskan Native.

Boren Fellowship and Scholarship for Study Abroad Information Session
Wednesday, November 08, 2023, 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM ET
Studying abroad can be pricey – apply for a scholarship! The Boren Scholarship provides up to $25,000 to U.S. undergraduate students to study abroad in areas of the world that are critical to U.S. interests and underrepresented in study abroad, including Africa, Asia, Central & Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East. The Boren Fellowship provides similar funding for graduate students.

Applying for REU’s or Research Experiences for Undergraduates Information Session

The National Science Foundation’s Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program offers students the chance to contribute to NSF-funded research projects while building relationships with mentors and peers. REUs occur during the summer, happen all over the US and abroad, and provide participants with a generous stipend. They often assist with travel and housing, as well.
