Fall 2024 PEAK Experiences Awards Applications Now Open!

Undergraduate Research and Fellowships is now accepting applications for the fall 2024 PEAK Experiences Awards.

The PEAK Experiences Awards are a progressively structured sequence of opportunities designed to support learners as they continue climbing to new heights of achievement in undergraduate research and creative endeavor throughout their Northeastern journeys.

From the beginner establishing a Base Camp, to those gaining experience while making the Ascent, and reaching the Summit, or Shouting Out their successes, the PEAK Experiences Awards offer something for everyone.


The Base Camp Award for the novice to advanced beginner supports individuals working to get familiar with research/creative practices for a maximum of 5 hours a week for 10 weeks. This award funds up to $750, which can be used for student wage or materials.

The Ascent Award for the advanced beginner to intermediate supports individuals or groups up to 3 persons seeking to broaden and deepen their competencies with up to 10 hours of work a week. This award funds up to $1500, which can be used for student wage/stipend, project costs & materials.

The Summit Award for the competent to proficent supports individuals or groups up to 3 persons conducting sophisticated projects. Projects in this category would be created and undertaken by applicants with a high degree of autonomy/independence up to 20 hours of work a week. This award funds up to $3,000, which  can be used for student wage/stipend, project costs & materials.

The Shout-It-Out Award for individuals or groups up to 2 students presenting their original research and creative endeavors at conferences. This award supports up to 50% of the cost of travel.

The deadline for fall Ascent and Summit Award applications is August 19th, while the deadline for Base-Camp Award applications is October 17th.  Shout-It-Out Award applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
