Fulbright Fellowship Fall Writing Workshops

This is a workshop for those who have submitted an application for our internal deadline for the US Fulbright Program. Now that applicants have completed their drafts for internal review, we’ll continue to work Northeastern’s applicants on polishing materials in advance of the national deadline in October.

NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Information Session

Huskies planning to head to graduate school in the STEM fields in fall 2020, should plan to apply for the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship (NSF GRFP). With a mission to “ensure the vitality of the human resource base of science and engineering in the United States and reinforces its diversity,” the NSF GRFP recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines who are pursuing research-based Master’s and doctoral degrees. In this information session, we’ll discuss the basics of this and similar awards and take you through the basics of how to craft a successful application.

Goldwater STEM Research Scholarship Information Sessions

Carnegie Endowment International Affairs Junior Fellowship Information Session

Truman Public Service Scholarship Information Sessions

National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship (NSF GRFP) Application Writing Workshop

This workshop will help you through the process of identifying issues of significance and developing questions that are narrow, feasible, and help fill the gaps in your discipline.

Ethical Conduct of Research and Creative Endeavor Workshop

Research and creative projects must be both intellectually rigorous and also ethically sound: protecting human subjects, respecting animals, and treating our peers, collaborators, and communities with respect. This session covers both fundamental principles and the specifics of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC).

Formulating a Project Proposal Workshop

Finalizing Your Grad School Application

Don’t let your grad school application deadlines sneak up on you, join us for this writing workshop to get a good solid look on your final drafts before you send your applications out into the world. We’ll work in small teams to help you put your best foot forward in this important next step. Those working in all disciplines and with any degree-aspiration welcome.

Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Workshop

The National Science Foundation funds a large number of research opportunities for undergraduate students. Typically, an REU will see a group of ten or so undergraduates working in the research programs of a wide variety of host institutions, either in the US or abroad. Each student is associated with a specific research project, where they work closely with faculty and other researchers. Students are granted stipends and, in many cases, assistance with housing and travel. Come learn more about these great opportunities, how to find a right fit, craft an application, and solicit references.

Udall Environment and Native American Nations Scholarship Information Session

Care about climate change? Clean water and air? Native American and tribal issues? Come learn more about the Morris K. Udall and Stewart K. Udall Scholarship for Environmental Leadership. For college sophomores and juniors with passions for leadership, public service, and commitment to issues related to Native American nations or to the environment.
