The University Honors Program enables faculty across campus to bring Honors students into their research and creative endeavors. Open to first and second-year Honors students in all fields, Honors Early Research Awards offer undergraduate Honors students the opportunity to work under the supervision of Northeastern faculty who are conducting cutting-edge research or creative endeavors in lab, studio, or other settings. As part of this initiative, the Honors Program offers support of up to $1,000 that can be applied towards additional research materials, tools, software, etc., necessary for the student’s work.
The University Honors Program identifies potential faculty partners before the start of fall, spring and summer terms. Faculty members seeking to participate in this program should submit a proposal through this online form.
Once the faculty application is approved, the opportunity will be advertised on the Undergraduate Research and Fellowships research opportunities page. Honors students will then apply via Northeastern’s Internal Fellowships Portal, which faculty will also use to review applications and select recipients of the Award. Further instructions will be provided directly to faculty who submit opportunities.
