What to Expect as an Honors Student

Opportunities. Challenges. Inspiration.

These are just a few of the ways University Honors Program students describe their experience.

With resources and support provided to minimize any potential barrier or boundary that could conceivably limit what a student can achieve, the University Honors Program provides its students with an enhanced Northeastern experience.

Unique opportunities available to Honors students:

Faculty consider it a privilege to design exciting courses for Honors students that cut across disciplinary boundaries to explore the issues and topics that they—and Honors students— are most curious about. A list of current Honors Courses may be found here.

From their very first year, Honors students are encouraged–  and receive generous financial support– to take advantage of the many short- and long-term global experiences Northeastern offers around the world. While Honors offers its own set of dedicated global experiences, including innovative Dialogues of Civilizations, Honors students may use the funding we provide to pursue any of the hundreds of global opportunities the university sponsors each year. Explore how you can Go Global with Honors.

Northeastern Honors students harness their curiosity and inventiveness through engagement in faculty- or student-initiated research and creative endeavors. Honors provides resources and support so that students can easily contribute to a project that a faculty member is leading—or propose their own line of study or creative enterprise.
