Julia Ebert Named Hertz Finalist
While at Northeastern, Julia Ebert, COS ’15, won a Marshall Scholarship and she is currently studying Bioengineering at Imperial College in London. Julia was recently selected as a finalist to be a member of the 2016 class of Hertz Fellows.
The Hertz Fellowship was created to inspire scientific exploration by providing resources for graduate education for leaders in the applied physical, biological, and engineering sciences. The Hertz Fellowships provides support for up to 5 years and the 40 winners this year were carefully selected from a pool of more than 800 applicants.
At Northeastern, Julia studied behavioral neuroscience and worked in the Northeastern Action Lab, winning a Goldwater Scholarship for her research achievements in the study of human motor control.
In addition to her on-campus research work, Julia explored robotics and machine learning during a co-op at the Max-Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Germany.
Julia plans to earn her doctorate in biomedical engineering and hopes to become an academic researcher.
