About

Madeline Seibert studied international affairs and environmental science at Northeastern. She first became interested in spending time abroad in China while taking a Mandarin class her freshman year, and later studied Chinese language and culture at Nanjing University. Madeline is also deeply interested in environmental issues. She provided research support in English and Chinese at the Natural Resources Defense Council in China and participated in a cooperative learning experience at GreenerU, a startup that focuses on reducing the environmental impact of college campuses.

Madeline was the first Northeastern student to earn a Schwarzman Scholarship, which gives students the opportunity to develop their leadership skills and professional networks through a one-year master’s degree at Tsinghua University in Beijing–one of China’s most prestigious universities. She will pursue a master's in public policy at Tsinghua and plans to undertake a career focused on addressing global resource challenges.
