Our Program

Advising

General Studies Program advisors provide students with individualized attention and support in order to help them meet their academic and personal goals.

Throughout the year, advisors work closely with students to identify their academic interests, monitor their progress, and guide them through the transition process to their major or college.

The advisors also serve as instructors for GENS 1101 and 1102, first-year seminar courses designed to aid students as they transition to college. Students meet regularly with their advisors in one-on-one office appointments to monitor academic progress, discuss learning strategies, and explore or confirm major choices.

At their summer orientation sessions, students will have the opportunity to meet with their assigned advisor and discuss their fall course schedules.
